These 4 Foods Aren't as Good for You as You Think

These 4 foods aren’t as good for you as you might think, and you could be eating them every day!

Canned Vegetables

When veggies get canned they often lose some fiber and nutrients, and they gain a lot of sodium along the way. None of this is very good news.

What do you do instead? Get frozen! Much more of that veggie goodness is preserved without all that sodium. I know, I know, limited freezer space - BUT - fresh veggies!

Granola

It’s true, many of us often think of granola as a health food, but the calories alone are a good enough reason not to eat the stuff.

In fact, just one cup of your average granola can be 450 calories (!). That’s nearly a quarter of a 2,000-calorie per day diet. All for just a teeny tiny bit of granola!

Pretzels

I don’t know what it is about pretzels that makes people think they are some sort of magical health food but it’s just not true. Sure, there may be a few less bad stuff in them than, say, fatty potato chips, but really we’re talking about a rather empty food here.

Pretzels also have a very high glycemic index, meaning your body takes in the sugars super fast when you eat them.

Margarine

Just use butter, and cap yourself. It’s time to stop substituting your butter for unhealthy margarine.

1 tbsp of margarine alone has 102 calories packed into it, made up of almost entirely fat.

Oh, and you get the added bonus of 2.1 grams of it being trans fats. Yuck.

This is why, at the end of the day, plants have a lot of answers. Here are Zaffrus we are champions of this magical spice called Saffron. It can have ridiculous health benefits and tastes delicious too as part of almost any meal.

You can buy Saffron online here at Zaffrus.
