How Healthy Is Hummus For You?
We eat it all the time and even have a tendency to think of it as somewhat of a health food. But what's the truth here? Is hummus really good for you at all? Let's look at the hard facts.
The primary ingredient is, of course, chickpeas. Chickpeas are, it turns out, rather nutritious with s lot packed in there.

Hummus is also packed with nutrients like iron, folate, phosphorus, and B vitamins. So far, things are looking pretty good for hummus!
But of course, you have to remember that the hummus you make or even that you buy is made with a lot more than chickpeas.
It’s usually made with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic. and plenty of other stuff can often show up in hummus as well. And all of those things change the nutritional profile of hummus and in some cases can add unnecessary features.
But when you really boil it down, the main element at work here is chickpeas. And chickpeas are pretty nutritious, so hummus is pretty nutritious in general.
But as a warning, saying it's nutritious doesn't mean we should gorge ourselves. You should eat hummus in moderation.
